
THE ZONTA CLUB OF HONG KONG, chartered in 1972, was the first club of Zonta International established in Hong Kong. With a membership size of 61, Zonta Club of Hong Kong works towards the objectives of improving the legal, political, economic, education, health and professional status of women, and the advancement of understanding, goodwill and peace through fellowship of executives in business and the professions.
Through a system of committees, the Zonta Club of Hong Kong implements service programs in joint efforts with local community groups and facilitates discussions and the submission of views on public policies. It also manages and contributes to a diversification of local service projects to help the needy in Hong Kong. Since its inception, it has contributed over HK$20 million to service such projects.
To encourage our younger generation to enter public affairs and policy-making fields, the Zonta Club of Hong Kong has established six Z Clubs and one Golden Z Club through joint efforts with secondary schools and tertiary institutions respectively. Apart from providing services to the community, members of Z Clubs and Golden Z Clubs also take part in joint activities for enhancing social awareness and developing their leadership skills.
ZONTA INTERNATIONAL is a global service organization of executives and professionals working together to empower women through Service and Advocacy. Founded in 1919 in Chicago, USA, Zonta International now has over 29,000 members in nearly 1,200 clubs in 63 countries. It has consultative status with six agencies of the United Nations and two international organizations.
