For this biennium, we co-developed and partnered with our long-term service partner, the HKSKH Lady MacLehose Center (LMC), on the “Walk the Talk to Gender Equality” project. The project supports low-income women in Hong Kong’s Kwai Tsing District—one of the five districts with the highest number of family-violence victims—by strengthening awareness of their right to say “no” to violence and equipping them to recognize early signs of stress arising from family crises. The program also focuses on building self-confidence and practical stress-management skills. During the 16 Days of Activism, 60 women and girls from the district participated. The program featured a psychological health talk delivered by a counseling psychologist, followed by a catwalk showcase in which participating women demonstrated the confidence developed through the program. The event concluded with interactive booths promoting gender equality, staffed by our Golden Z members and community volunteers. These activities also provided opportunities for direct engagement with beneficiaries, enabling our team to offer support and encouragement. Over the past biennium, the project delivered 20 workshops and one camp, including a children’s resilience workshop and the “Listen to My Own Voice” counseling service. In total, the initiative reached and benefited more than 300 women and their families. On International Women’s Day in 2025, the program hosted a session for approximately 30 women featuring a speaker from the Equal Opportunities Commission. The talk introduced the Family Status Discrimination Ordinance and the Sex Discrimination Ordinance, both enacted in late 2024, to strengthen participants’ understanding of legal protections and advance awareness of gender equity.
