Coding and AI Training Program for Children of ethnic minorities (in collaboration with Preface School of Technology)

Back to list

In this project, free coding classes were offered to children from the Zubin Foundation – supporting ethnic minorities.

With the support from Deloitte HK and Ernst & Young, 15 used laptops were donated to the project. Once the children have completed the 6-hour coding course, they could take home a laptop, enabling them to continue their digital learning journey. The project focuses on gender inequalities among ethnic minorities in the society. For example, during the coding classes, participants were taught how to use AI tools such as ChatGPT to learn about gender stereotype and made posters about gender equality. Participants learned about AI technologies and their potential to drive social change, diving deep into discussion about gender equality and how technology can amplify our voices. Each group created stunning AI-generated images and posters, showcasing their unique perspectives on gender equality. The collaborative spirit was palpable as students shared their thoughts and ideas, fostering rich dialogue on the importance of gender equality.
